The Wessex Mighty Midget TB160 redefines what a compact tuba can be. Inspired by historic military “tornister” tubas, this modern re-imagining brings full BBB resonance to a design that’s incredibly easy to carry, comfortable to hold, and perfect for players who need big sound in a small footprint.
Don’t be fooled by its size! The Mighty Midget has a surprisingly deep, warm tone with excellent projection, making it suitable for rehearsals, travelling performances, outdoor work, and situations where a full-size tuba simply isn’t practical.
Carefully engineered for balance and comfort, the TB160 offers smooth valve response and great intonation across the range, making it a pleasure to play whether you’re practising on the go or adding it to your collection of unique low-brass instruments.

You can return any item bought from Wessex Tubas within 14 days of receiving it for a full refund, minus shipping costs. However, please contact us before returning your item so we can provide you with return labels and a collection booking with our dedicated courier to ensure the safe return of your item/s. When returning the item, it must be in its original packaging and in ’as received’ condition. Please note that shipping charges apply to refund upon return of your item and any damage will also result in reduced refund.
