The Wessex Dolce Fortissimo EP110P takes everything players love about the immensely popular Dolce euphonium and elevates it through individual hand construction, premium materials and meticulous attention to detail.
Handmade in Wessex’s specialist high-grade workshop, the EP110P is designed for the demanding professional, advanced student or discerning amateur seeking a responsive, expressive compensating euphonium without the exceptionally high price associated with many comparable professional instruments.
Its warm, singing tone gives the Dolce Fortissimo its distinctive musical personality. The instrument responds freely across the entire register, from a secure and resonant low range to clear, effortless upper notes. It is equally at home producing an intimate lyrical solo or the breadth and projection needed to carry over a full brass band or concert band.
The fully compensating system provides secure intonation and confident chromatic playing throughout the low register. Its graduated bore—0.59 inches through the first three valves and 0.66 inches through the fourth—helps create an open, well-supported feel without sacrificing control or tonal focus.
A floating, off-the-bell nickel-silver leadpipe allows the bell to resonate more freely while helping to produce a warm, colourful sound. The specially hardened 12-inch bell delivers projection and breadth while offering increased resistance to accidental damage.
Stainless-steel valves with nylon guides provide a smooth, quiet and dependable action. All-nickel tuning slides, nickel strengthening plates and substantial decorative ferrules give the instrument durability, stability and a reassuringly solid feel.
The silver-plated model is beautifully finished with gold-coloured fittings, traditional heavyweight valve caps and distinctive black-nickel valve buttons. A lacquered version with a gold-brass bell is also available for players who prefer a warmer visual appearance.
Supplied with a Wessex 4Y silver-plated mouthpiece and a luxury lightweight case, the Dolce Fortissimo EP110P is ready for rehearsals, concerts, competitions and professional engagements.
